Today's Appreciation

Three things I'm appreciative of today:
1. This beautiful child
2. Our amazing camera
3. This hairbow from Karen (my brother's mother-in-law and dear family friend)

New Toys

We brought out the "Bumbo" chair for Lola this weekend (apparently allows even the youngest infants to sit upright . . .) She seemed to enjoy it at first.
But quickly grew tired of the new toy.

Fourteen

That's the number of pictures you should take in order to catch this adorable-perfect-amazing-smile.
She loves her Uncle Craig!

(Lack of) Truth in Adverstising

Regarding celebrity endorsements:
I believe that Michael Jordan actually drinks Gatorade. I can imagine that Valerie Bertinelli and Jason Alexander have actually lost weight with Jenny Craig. I can even buy the notion that Beyonce uses L'Oreal makeup (probably not for photo shoots and concerts - but maybe she owns a lipstick or two for when she's slumming).

I cannot, however, under any circumstance, believe that Sarah Jessica Parker colors her hair with a hair dye that you can purchase at your local CVS. Not now. Not ever.

Playing with Daddy

Bad investments

We bought a very nice mobile for the crib. It has animals that circle around, three different styles of music, a simulated heartbeat, and it projects a lighted image above Sweet Lola's head . . . all the bells and whistles.

She prefers to stare at the ceiling fan.

In my humble opinion

The only thing cuter than this close up:
Is this wide shot:
Both taken when Husband was post-call today.

1 Month Check Up!

Lola had her one month well check with Dr. Earle today. She was 22 inches long and 10 lb. 7 oz. In the 85th percentile for both height and weight. In fact, they came in to re-measure her height because they were so shocked at how much she had grown in a month! She did great at the visit - hardly made a peep! I was so impressed that I pressed my luck and stopped by the Toyota dealership on the way home for scheduled maintenance. She was great until the VERY last second and even then it was not more than a 2 minute outburst. Now we are home and ready for a nap . . . (At least I am).

Oh . . .sorry

My public does not care for pictures of road-side signs. They want more BABY. Here's two wide-awake shots from my cell phone (apologies for the quality).
Can you just EAT HER UP??

A Sign of the Times

There are many things wrong with this sign, which can be seen off of Augusta Rd. heading south out of downtown Greenville.
Here are just two . . .
1. I can can only hope that the hotdogs are made with more concern for quality control and attention to detail than this sign.
2. What exactly constitutes a homemade hotdog? Isn't the very nature of the hot dog that you simply place the pre-cooked processed meat product into a heat source of any sort and ta-da . . . . a hot dog! Unless this little road-side shop is literally processing random pig parts into casings - then these hotdogs are not, in fact, homemade (or homade, for that matter)
