Me: I love you as big as the sky

Table scraps

I look down to find Allen munching on the edge of the table at Pickwick.

I said, "Allen! What are you doing?" (Not expecting a response) and he immediately looks up and gives me this face.

He's so proud of himself!

Truth

Medical history form at Allen's doctor appointment today. I was tempted to check "Extreme mood swings" because, well, it's true.

Advice

If you were thinking about asking Lola to cut your hair, I'd reconsider.

April Update

Another month gone. . . . April has been a screwy month on all fronts.  The weather has been bizarro in Greenville - hot cold sunny and rainy on any given day.  We had a contract on our house that fell through (the buyer's final loan approval did not go as expected) and within 36 hours we had it back on the market and a NEW contract in hand.  This time with an incoming resident - which feels a lot more secure and "known."  We are preparing ourselves to start packing everything up and get ready for the movers.  Lola caught a cold and then graciously gave it to both Ben and me - who always find ourselves getting way more sick than she ever was originally.  And we continue to house-hunt through our amazing proxies - Doug and Julia - up in West Hartford.

Ben is finally off trauma rotation and it couldn't have come soon enough.  His last rotation of residency is pediatrics - which he is really enjoying.  He has 2 months left of residency and has begun studying for the boards.

Lola continues to floor us with her constant questions and ever-growing vocabulary.  Today she wanted to know what "trusty" meant.  And then "dusty", "rusty", and "gusty" - all explainable.  And then "lusty" - hmm.... let me get back to you on that one.  In 15 years.  We had her parent-teacher conference this morning and the teacher had all good things to say.  She did mention that Lola hates when people get up close to her face - which she comes by naturally.  Everyone we saw at school commented that Lola is a "hoot".

Allen is rolling over (not fluidly - but consistently) and sitting up without support (only takes a tumble or 2 each day :)  He LOVES to eat his solids, puffs, cheerios, and mums - and literally screams if you are not feeding him fast enough.  He is sleeping through the night and taking 2 naps at about an hour 20 minutes, and 1 early-evening nap around 45 minutes.  He continues to be super smiley and laughs at everything (especially Lola).
