A little update on Baby Allen: He continues to hang on on the 98th percentile for size. He weighed 20 lb. 11 oz when we went to the doctor last week for a little respiratory virus. He is generally a happy baby now that I am completely dairy and soy free. He eats every four hours during the day and then wakes up to feed once around 2:00 or 3:00 am. He's not a great napper . . .but it's hard to expect much out of him when he is being carted around mid-nap every-other day to carpool or dance class or play dates for Lola.
He has starting eating oatmeal (voraciously) and we will probably try another food soon. He loves his pacifier and has a lovey in the carseat and one in the crib that he likes to hold on to. He's a grabber - and ALWAYS like to have something in his little fist, whether its a burp cloth, my scarf, his toes, or his favorite . . .my hair. (Which I recently cut short to avoid his freakishly strong grasp.)
He's not really doing many tricks these days - I probably need to let him spend some more time on his tummy so he can master rolling over. He loves to laugh and giggle and is pretty easily entertained. He used to love his swing, but now he prefers to be held around the house (quite a workout for mommy!) or lay on his playmat. He just recently started to get upset if I leave his sight - although Lola is a good substitute and I often tell her to "watch him" while I run upstairs for whatever it is that I inevitably forgot.
We visited Grammy and Poppy this weekend (they moved to Atlanta in late-November) and both kids were just enamoured with them. They got the biggest smiles out of Allen and Lola and Grammy were attached at the hip.
I'll try to find the time to post the 3 and 4 month pictures this week so you can catch up. Overall, Allen is a pretty easy-going baby most of the time. He is giving us great joy and pleasure every day.
