I open Lola's bottom dresser drawer and find 3 pieces of doll house furniture inside.  I shake my head, knowing that Allen put them there; he's a putter.  Those drawers are on a very fast track and I'm shaking my head thinking of how many times I've chided him for opening them and curling his little pudgy fingers around the ledge - practically daring the drawer to close on his sweet fingertips.  He's napping sweetly in his crib and I smile at the thought of him, just as the drawer slams shut on my thumb.  Ow.

Tonight Ben said, "I know you fight the good fight trying to keep the house clean all day. But today, the house won."

Instead of telling me, "we will be there between 8:00 and 12:00", why don't service people just say they will be arriving at exactly the last minute before the end of the service window? Since that's when they inevitably show up.

Score one for the good guys

On a daily basis I question my mommy-skills. Usually minor stuff - Have they eaten anything green since last Tuesday? Is this the 3rd or 4th episode of 'Noodle and Doodle' that they've watched in a row?
Today, we were in the dressing room of the Gap where I was trying on a much-needed pair of pants. Lola says, "those look beautiful on you mommy. But I love you because you are beautiful in the inside."
So yeah. I'm doing something right.
