I have a bone to pick with the Pretzel store in Haywood Mall. (Not Annies . . .the other one that is trying to BE Annies). On Mother's Day, Lola and I ventured to the mall together for a little mother-daughter shopping. Since I inherited a rare gene from my own mother which causes me to instantly break out in stress-induced hives and start complaining at the THOUGHT of a mall - I figured I should expose Lola early in order to build up her immunity.
So at the end of a rather exhausting trip (for shoes and bras, for her and me, respectively of course) we decided to share a pretzel from the Pretzel Maker. I asked the teenager working the counter (very politely) if I could have a cup of tap water - to which she replied "we don't have tap water."
Correction. You DO HAVE tap water. I can see a sink behind that counter of yours, and I'm fairly confident it works. The fact that you don't SELL tap water is a bit silly if you ask me. I'll pay for the cup. I'll even pay a small amount for the water that flows freely out of the faucet 3 feet behind you. But don't make me buy an marked-up bottle of water for $2.50 when you have cups, ice, and tap water within arms reach. Hmph.

Puppies
We thought Lola was pure genius when she started identifying every dog on the street and saying "puppy" each time she saw one. But today when I turned on the tv it was on a show featuring angry lions viciously and aggressively fighting with each other, as Lola squealed in delight, "puppies!" I guess we still have to work to do on that one.

My morning errand
I'll just come right out and say it. I have serious concerns about the people who patronize this CVS. A gentle hand washing reminder is one thing, but when you have to explicitly remind people to put trash in the trash can and flush the toilet - you have officially left the realm of the civilized. We won't even get into the grammatical errors.
